Ava Hoppe | 23 April, 2023

The second quarter of 2022 saw some major changes in the holdings of the USA Financial Portformulas Corp fund. However, these changes were not always favorable, as some of the stocks in the portfolio lost value between Q2 and Q3 of 2022.

VRTX is one such company whose shares fell by 3% during this period. Similarly, AEP saw a decline of 4.4%, and XEL had a dip of 5.5%. But AZN was the worst hit among the bunch, as it lost as much as 18.7% during this time.

To balance out these losses, there were some significant gains as well. GIS, for instance, saw an increase of 15.5%, and VDE gained 20.6%. HSY had a rise of 28.5%, and NOC saw an increase of 30%.

The biggest gainer, however, was CI, which jumped a massive 26620% in value between Q2 and Q3 of 2022. The company had just 19 shares in Q2, but this number rose to 4816 in Q3, resulting in a total value of $1336.

Among the other substantial gainers were MRK, which rose by 51.7%, and MPC, which had a climb of 58.3%. Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM) also saw an increase of 35.3%, and Valero Energy Corp (VLO) gained 47.6%. These stocks were significant contributors to the fund's overall growth during this period.

However, there were some stocks in the portfolio that did not see any change between Q2 and Q3, such as VPU and INCY. The former had no shares in Q2 but gained 8886 in the latter period, resulting in a value of $1264. INCY had no shares in Q2 but acquired 18571 in Q3, worth $1238.

Other companies, such as IEF, IAU, and AGG, saw minor declines in their shares and value during this period. SHY, for instance, had a dip of just 3.6%. These changes could be attributed to market conditions or company-specific factors that affected the performance of these stocks.

Some companies like IBM, LLY, WEC, and DUKE ENERGY CORP NEW saw a significant increase in the number of shares, resulting in a rise in their total value. IBM, for instance, had just 10 shares in Q2, but this number went up to 10203 in Q3, leading to a total value of $1212. Similarly, LLY had only three shares in Q2, but this number rose to 3699 in Q3, worth $1196.

Overall, the Q2 to Q3 comparison of the USA Financial Portformulas Corp fund's holdings shows a mixed bag of results. While some companies saw significant gains, others had significant losses, and some remained stable. It is crucial to note that these changes may not be permanent and could be affected by various factors such as market conditions, company performances, or global events. Therefore, it is essential to track the developments of these stocks over time to ensure a balanced and profitable portfolio.
