The Growing Success of Sparks as Eagletree Capital Exits Investment
In a recent development, Eagletree Capital has announced its exit from its investment in Sparks, a global brand experience agency. This move comes as the Company is sold to Freeman, with the terms of the transaction remaining undisclosed. Eagletree's initial investment in Sparks took place in late 2020, positioning the firm as a partner to the Company's ownership group led by Scott Tarte and Jeff Harrow.
The partnership between Eagletree Capital and Sparks presented a unique opportunity to invest in an innovative experiential agency that primarily serves the events sector, even amidst the challenging market environment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eagletree's investment was based on its strong belief in the long-term value of live events and Sparks' market leadership, which is driven by their ability to provide innovative and high-value solutions.
During its association with Sparks, Eagletree Capital actively collaborated with the Company to identify and execute strategic acquisitions that greatly contributed to its recovery from the impact of the pandemic. As a result, Sparks has grown significantly and has almost doubled in size since 2019.
Michael Struble, Senior Partner of EagleTree, expressed gratitude towards Scott and Jeff for their partnership over the past three years. He emphasized how this exit validates Eagletree's expertise and conviction in the live events sector and acknowledges that Sparks is a best-in-class operator. Struble also commended the talented team at Sparks for their dedication and hard work.
Anup Bagaria, Co-Managing Partner of EagleTree, added to Struble's sentiments, stating that the outcome of this investment represents a great return for investors. Bagaria expressed his satisfaction with the results and extended well wishes to Scott, Jeff, and the entire Sparks team for their continued success.
Scott Tarte and Jeff Harrow, Co-Chairmen of Sparks, acknowledged Eagletree's understanding and belief in the long-term potential of in-person connections, making them a valuable partner. Tarte and Harrow expressed pride in the accomplishments made during their partnership, recognizing the hard work of the entire Sparks team. They eagerly anticipate the possibilities that lie ahead for Sparks and Freeman as their journey continues.
