Ava Hoppe | 20 April, 2023
FundX Investment Group, LLC recently released their Q3 2021 vs. Q4 2021 13F Holdings Comparison report, which provides insight into the changes in holdings of the fund during this period. The report reveals a number of interesting trends and changes that took place, which we will explore further in this blog post.
Firstly, let's take a look at the top performers in the fund during this quarter. The top performer by far was RPG, an Invesco Exchange Traded Fund, which saw a massive increase in shares from 14,261 to 173,165, a percentage change of 1,229.5%. This also resulted in a significant increase in value, from $2,746 to $36,507, an increase of 1,229.8%. It's worth noting that this is a smaller fund, which could explain the large percentage increase in performance.
Another strong performer was QQQ, an Invesco QQQ Trust which saw a 87.2% increase in shares, from 22,535 to 37,956. This led to a corresponding increase in value, from $8,067 to $15,101, a jump of 87.2%. This is notable as QQQ has been a strong performer in recent years, benefiting from the growth of big tech companies such as Amazon and Apple.
Moving on to the worst performers in the fund, we see a number of ETFs showing negative growth, including XRT, a SPDR fund, which saw a decrease in shares of 33.8%, from 64,395 to 42,656. This led to a corresponding decrease in value, from $5,816 to $3,851, a percentage change of -33.8%. Another notable decliner was PHO, an Invesco Exchange Traded Fund, which saw a significant decrease in shares from 57,514 to 6,578, a percentage change of -87.3%. This also resulted in a decrease in value, from $3,147 to $400, a percentage change of -87.3%.
One factor that may be influencing these changes is the overall state of the market. During this period, the stock market experienced a number of ups and downs, with the S&P 500 seeing significant gains in Q3, followed by a decline in Q4. This may have had an impact on the performance of the FundX Investment Group, LLC, as well as individual holdings within the fund.
Looking more closely at individual holdings, we see that some of the largest holdings in the fund remained relatively stable during this period. AAPL, for example, saw no change in shares, while its value increased from $1,159 to $1,455, a percentage change of 25.5%. Similarly, VV and VTI, both Vanguard Index Funds, saw no change in shares, and only small increases in value.
On the other hand, there were some notable changes in other individual holdings. SUSA, an iShares Trust, saw a significant increase in shares, from 16,324 to 45,124, a percentage change of 206.1%. This resulted in a corresponding increase in value, from $1,566 to $4,794, an increase of 206.1%. Similarly, PKW, an Invesco Exchange Traded Fund, saw a significant increase in shares, from 63,379 to 90,061, a percentage change of 52.1%. This led to a corresponding increase in value, from $5,714 to $8,691, an increase of 52.1%.
In conclusion, the FundX Investment Group, LLC Q3 2021 vs. Q4 2021 13F Holdings Comparison report provides insights into the performance of the fund during this period. While some individual holdings saw significant growth, there were also some notable decliners, which may be attributed to the overall state of the market during this time. As always, it's important for investors to carefully evaluate individual holdings and take market trends into account when making investment decisions.
