Gracie Gottlieb | 21 June, 2023
Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) can be complex and stressful processes, especially for privately held businesses looking to sell. That's where M&A advisors come in - they provide expert guidance and support to navigate these complicated transactions. Generational Equity, a leading M&A advisor, recently advised Industrial Control Service in its sale to Motion & Control Enterprises, demonstrating the importance of having an experienced and knowledgeable advisor on your side.
Industrial Control Service (IC) is a Michigan-based distributor of machine automation products and equipment, founded in 1975. They specialize in vision systems, robotics, bar-coding, sensors, motion control, networks, material handling, and safety. IC's expertise in these areas made them an attractive acquisition target for Motion & Control Enterprises (MCE), a Pennsylvania-based value-added distributor of flow control, fluid power, air compressor, automation, and hydraulic repair products and services. MCE serves over 23,000 maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) customers from 39 facilities located in 13 states.
The sale was successfully closed on June 1, 2023, with Michael Goss, Executive Managing Director of M&A - Central Region at Generational Equity, Joe Hige, a Generational Group Authorized Affiliate and Vice President of M&A, and Lance Thomasson, also a Generational Group Authorized Affiliate and Vice President of M&A, leading the deal. Brian Hendershot, Senior Managing Director at Generational Equity, initially established the relationship with IC.
This successful sale highlights the importance of having an experienced and knowledgeable M&A advisor on your side. M&A can be a complex and challenging process, and having a trusted advisor to guide you through it can make all the difference.
