The Rise and Fall of Q3 and Q4 2022 Holdings: A Clearwater Capital Advisors' Analysis

Clearwater Capital Advisors, LLC recently released its Q3 and Q4 2022 13F Holdings report, showing a mix of ups and downs among its holdings. The report, which compares the number of shares and their respective values held by the firm during the two quarters, revealed several notable changes across various funds, including WisdomTree TR, iShares TR, and SPDR Index SHS FDS. In this article, we will delve into the report's details and analyze the trends observed in Clearwater Capital Advisors' portfolio.
One of the most significant changes observed in the report is the decrease in shares held by Clearwater Capital Advisors in NEAR, an iShares ETF. The firm held 1,183,483 shares of NEAR in Q3 2022, which decreased by around 1.2% to 1,169,377 shares in Q4 2022. Similarly, shares in ARKK, an ARK ETF, decreased by around 51.9% from Q3 to Q4, from 182,333 shares to 105,813 shares. In contrast, several funds experienced an increase in the number of shares held, like WisdomTree TR and J P Morgan Exchange Traded F, with a 11.8% and 100.3% increase, respectively.
Aside from changes in shares, the report also showed significant differences in the value of shares held by Clearwater Capital Advisors across the two quarters. The value of shares held in WisdomTree TR increased by around 10.1%, from $63,013,000 to $69,408,000, whereas the value of shares held in iShares TR decreased for some funds, such as REZ and DBEF, by 10.9% and 93.4%, respectively. However, the value of shares held in other funds under iShares TR experienced a considerable change, INTF increased by 112.1%, while ICSH surged by a whopping 699.8%.
Furthermore, the report showed varying trends across different sectors in which Clearwater Capital Advisors holds its portfolio. The financial sector represents the highest percentage of the firm’s total portfolio, accounting for 26.4%. The industrial sector and technology sector followed with 18.5% and 14.9%, respectively. Within each sector, there were funds that experienced a decrease in shares, such as XSOE in the industrial sector and QQQ in the technology sector.
Overall, the report indicates that Clearwater Capital Advisors has undergone substantial changes in its holdings over the two quarters, which shed light on the firm's investment strategy. While some funds saw an increase in shares, others experienced a decrease, reflecting the volatile nature of the stock market. By regularly analyzing and adjusting its portfolio, Clearwater Capital Advisors can potentially mitigate risks and increase gains in the future.
