Revamping Forefront Analytics' Portfolio: Q3 2022 vs. Q4 2022 Comparison

Forefront Analytics, LLC has recently released its 13F holdings for Q3 2022 and Q4 2022, and the results show a lot of activity. The report compares the changes in shares, value, and percentage of holdings of various ETFs, index funds, and equities. The changes in holdings are not only significant but also appear to reflect a smart approach to investing.
Nushares ETF TR saw a 12.3% decrease in shares, while iShares TR's MTUM decreased by 10.7%. However, Vanguard Intl Equity Index F increased its holdings by 54.9%. Vanguard Tax-Managed Fds experienced a modest increase of 16.8%, with a marginal increase in value.
PIMCO ETF TR LTPZ decreased shares by 5%, while iShares TR's IGF only saw a 0.7% change. However, iShares TR's HDV showed a decrease in both shares and value by 2.2%. SPDR S&P 500 ETF TR, DBX ETF TR's DBEF, and First Tr Exchange-Traded FD's EMLP all went through changes of less than 5%.
It is worth noting that SPDR Ser TR's WIP decreased in shares and value by 7.6%. Vanguard World FD's EDV experienced the biggest decrease in both shares and value. Vanguard Index Fds' VNQ also had a significant decrease of 17.5%. iShares TR's IVV showed a 24.1% decrease in shares and value.
On the other hand, there were significant positive changes for some holdings. Vanguard Int'l Equity Index F's VNQI decreased only by 6.6%. iShares TR's EMB decreased by 18.1%, and iShares TR's LQD decreased by 21.1%. In contrast, Invesco Exch Traded FD's BKLN decreased by 14.3%.
Among the interesting changes for Q4 2022 is Invesco Exchange-Traded FD T's PDP, which did not report any holdings last quarter but had shares worth 36,352 in the current quarter. Vanguard Index Fds' VB increased by 8%, while iShares TR's IEF and WisdomTree TR's EES experienced a decrease of 10.8% and 14.7% respectively.
Other holdings that experienced significant increases were iShares TR's TIP with an 81.2% increase in value, and SPDR Ser TR's FLRN, which witnessed a 133.5% increase in value. The Select Sector SPDR TRs, XLRE, and XLE, also showed a significant increase in holdings and value.
The report shows some interesting trends, with investors focusing mainly on Vanguard and iShares ETFs and index funds. The percentage change in holdings among most of these holdings was reasonable, showing that the Forefront Analytics team has made some smart moves in Q4 2022. Investors who follow the Fund's actions may find this report insightful when deciding their investment strategy for the coming months.
