Blue Sage Capital: Investing in Geo-Solutions for Growth and Expansion

Blue Sage Capital, a private equity firm based in Austin, Texas, has recently completed its investment in Geo-Solutions, Inc. Geo-Solutions, a company with over 40 years of experience, specializes in highly complex geotechnical and environmental remediation services. With a focus on infrastructure, utilities, chemical, mining, and other industrial end-markets, Geo-Solutions has established itself as a market leader in soil mixing, slurry wall construction, and jet grouting.
Throughout its history, Geo-Solutions has been at the forefront of innovation, introducing new industry techniques and technologies. The company boasts an impressive list of "first-of-its-kind" projects, showcasing its expertise and commitment to delivering exceptional results.
Darin Payne, President and CEO of Geo-Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Blue Sage, stating, "We are excited to enter the next chapter of the Geo-Solutions story alongside Blue Sage, a proven value-added investor in the environmental industry. We have been a trusted resource for offering our specialized suite of services across various applications. Leveraging the Blue Sage relationship will enable us to expand our geographic footprint, extend our service lines, pursue strategic acquisitions, and reinvest in our business."
Peter Huff, Founding and Managing Partner of Blue Sage, shares the same excitement about the partnership with Geo-Solutions. He highlighted the company's industry knowledge and its ability to safely complete complex projects. Huff stated, "We could not be more excited to partner with Darin and the rest of the Geo-Solutions team, and we are eager to execute on our joint strategy for growth."
Blue Sage's investment in Geo-Solutions represents a strategic move towards expanding its portfolio in the environmental industry. The private equity firm, known for investing in profitable and growing lower middle-market companies, aims to partner with companies that hold leadership positions in niche manufacturing, environmental solutions, or specialty services industries. With investments typically ranging from $25 million to $50 million, Blue Sage focuses on control buyout investments and recapitalizations of companies with $25 million to $125 million of revenue.
The transaction was facilitated with the assistance of various firms. Blue Sage was represented by Queen Saenz + Schutz PLLC for legal matters, Kroll for accounting and IT services, Cherry Bekaert for tax-related advisory, and NFP for insurance. Geo-Solutions, on the other hand, was represented by FMI Capital Advisors, Inc.
Blue Sage's investment in Geo-Solutions signals a promising future for both companies. With Blue Sage's financial backing and strategic guidance, Geo-Solutions is well-positioned to expand its operations, explore new markets, and continue its tradition of innovation in the geotechnical and environmental remediation industry. This partnership exemplifies the growth-oriented approach that Blue Sage takes in its investments, as it seeks to drive value and support the success of its portfolio companies.
