Gracie Gottlieb | 11 October, 2019
According to the most recent 13F reports one third of all the funds filing quarterly 13F reports have some Apple stock in their portfolio. As of this writing the market cap of Apple is 1.04 trillion, two hundred and twenty-seven-billion-dollar worth of stock, over a quarter of the total market cap, is held by over 1100 funds. That’s a quarter of the total market cap!
Only 26 funds have shorted the Apple stock for the sum total of nine hundred and thirty-six million.
Apple stock hits all-time high today on the optimism that China and USA trade talks were successfully coming to completion and Apple will be able to avoid a tax on Chinese imports that would eat into the profit margin or force the company to increase the price of it products. If talks don’t produce an agreement USA is set tax $250 billion worth of Chinese imports at 30 percent.
