How Clover Partners, L.P. Adjusted Their Portfolio from Q2 to Q3 2019

As the market continues to fluctuate, it's important to keep an eye on how some of the biggest players are adjusting their portfolios. One such player is Clover Partners, L.P., whose Q2 to Q3 2019 13F holdings comparison provides some interesting insight.
BANCORP NEW JERSEY INC NEW (BKJ) saw the largest change, with Clover Partners, L.P. reducing their holdings by 40.2%. Meanwhile, MALVERN BANCORP INC (MLVF) and RANDOLPH BANCORP INC both saw small decreases of 6% and 8.1%, respectively.
TFS FINANCIAL CORP (TFSL) and UNITED CMNTY FINL CORP OHIO (UCFC) also saw reductions in holdings, with decreases of 0.3% and 3.8%, respectively. POPULAR INC (BPOP) saw a similar decrease of 0.3%.
FIRST BANCORP P R (FBP) saw a notable increase in holdings, with Clover Partners, L.P. increasing their shares from 118,800 to 204,700, a change of 55.7%. INVESTORS BANCORP INC (ISBC) also saw a significant increase of 33%.
Clover Partners, L.P. added a new position in FIRST UNITED CORP (FUNC), with 80,136 shares valued at $1,763. They also added MERIDIAN BANCORP INC (EBSB) to their portfolio, with 87,913 shares valued at $1,648.
SELECT BANCORP INC NEW (SLCT) saw the largest decrease in holdings, with Clover Partners, L.P. reducing their shares by 24.3%. INDEPENDENT BANK CORP MICH (IBCP) saw the second-largest decrease of 54.8%.
SYNOVUS FINANCIAL CORP (SNV) saw a significant decrease in holdings, with Clover Partners, L.P. reducing their shares from 60,000 to 25,396, a change of 56.8%. CONNECTONE BANCORP INC (CNOB) and STERLING BANCORP DEL (STL) also saw significant decreases of 68% and 69.7%, respectively.
Overall, Clover Partners, L.P. made some strategic moves in their portfolio, reducing holdings in some areas while adding new positions to their portfolio. As always, it will be interesting to see how these adjustments play out in the long-term.
