Holowesko Partners Ltd. Q3 vs. Q4 2022: A Look Into Their Portfolio Changes

Over the months of Q3 and Q4 2022, Holowesko Partners Ltd. has made significant adjustments to its stock portfolio holdings. Among some of the big movers and shakers in their holdings were Freeport-McMoRan Inc, Alphabet Inc, American Express Co, and Wells Fargo.
Freeport-McMoRan Inc saw a massive 81.8% increase in shares held, going from 387,000 in Q3 to 506,000 in Q4. This was a solid bet, as the mining company has been reporting strong production results in recent months.
Another stock that Holowesko Partners Ltd. increased its holdings in was Alphabet Inc, adding 54,000 more shares for a total of 192,800 in Q4. The company has seen steady growth over the years and with very little debt, it's an ideal long-term holding for investment firms.
American Express Co has an intriguing stock story. Holowesko held no shares of this financial services giants in Q3 2022, but added 109,000 shares in the Q4 2022. This could be due to the company's unique business model that relies heavily on customer loyalty programs and credit services.
On the other hand, Holowesko Partners Ltd. significantly decreased its holdings in Wells Fargo, selling off roughly 136,000 shares- leaving them with 356,181 shares in Q4 from 492,181 in Q3. This comes after the company has been facing ongoing struggles that have negatively affected their profits.
Other notable movers in their portfolio were Activision Blizzard Inc, which saw a modest 3% increase in shares held, and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, which saw a 49.7% decrease in shares held.
While changes in an investment firm's portfolio may not always indicate a significant shift in the company's strategy, it's interesting to examine the reasoning behind such moves. It's essential to have a finger on the pulse of these shifts in order to analyze the markets at a deeper level and gain insights into the companies that make it up.
