Mercer Investments Q3 vs Q4 2022: Analyzing the Changes Made in 13F Holdings

FMX, FOMENTO ECONOMICO MEX SP, saw holdings decrease by 8.7%, from 266,626 shares in Q3 to 232,739 shares in Q4. In contrast, Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF, VIG, maintained the same number of shares (92,891) in both quarters, but there was a 12.3% increase in Q4 value ($14,105,000) compared to Q3 ($12,555,000).
Vanguard S&P 500 ETF, VOO increased its holdings from 22,443 shares to 23,322 shares, leading to an 11.2% rise in value ($8,194,000 to $7,368,000) in Q4 compared to Q3. Franco-Nevada Corp, FNV.TO, had a 14.6% increment in its holdings in the two quarters (55,580 shares to 55,780 shares), also increasing its value by 14.6% (from $6,641,000 to $7,612,000).
Mercado Libre Inc, MELI, experienced a significant change in holdings, increasing its shares by 22% (4751 to 5797) between Q3 and Q4, and the value grew by a massive 24.7% ($3,933,000 to $4,905,000). CIA Cervecerias Uni Spon, CCU, saw its holdings drop by 0.4% in Q4, i.e., 270,461 shares compared to 271,420 in Q3. Its value increased from $2,926,000 to $3,548,000 in Q4, indicating a 21.3% change.
iShares ESG Aware MSCI EAFE ETF, ESGD, experienced an increase in holdings from 14,616 shares in Q3 to 14,685 shares in Q4. The value of the ETF rose by 17.7% ($820,000 to $965,000) between Q3 and Q4. Vanguard Russell 2000 Value Index Fund ETF, VTWV, held 6,948 shares in Q3, rising to 7,047 shares in Q4, indicating a 9% change in holdings. Its value grew moderately, from $787,000 to $858,000, reflecting an 8.9% increase between the two quarters.
There are also some exceptions in Mercer Investment LLC's holdings. iShares Core S&P 500 ETF, IVV, and Vanguard Total Market Index Fund ETF, VTI, had minimal changes in Q4 holdings, with IVV holding 43 shares in both quarters and VTI holding none in Q4 compared to 655 in Q3, leading to a 100% decrease in holdings.
