The story was a little different for Vanguard Index Fds VUG and VBK. Although the shares increased for VUG (2.7%) and VBK (5.9%) in Q4, the values increased only slightly because of the low percentage change in shareholding.

Vanguard Int'l Equity Index F VWO, had a significant increase in Q4, with a 17.3% share increase from 184,689 in Q3 to 202,778 in Q4. But the fund value only increased 17.2% from $6,739 to $7,904. A significant contrast to the iShares TR IWO, which had a Q4 percentage increase in fund value of 8.4% from shares which rose from 29,370 to 30,675.

However, the iShares TR IWN, which had the same Q3 and Q4 shares of 46,806, saw a remarkable increase in the fund value of 7.5% to $6,490 over $6,035 in the previous quarter.

The Vanguard Index Fds VOO, VOE, and VOT saw slight increases in Q4 from Q3 but showed a higher percentage increase on the fund value.

At the lower end of the spectrum, Procter and Gamble Co PG, Exxon Mobil Corp XOM, and Chevron Corp New CVX showed an increase in shares and fund values, between Q3 and Q4, while Rockwell Automation Inc ROK had no shares in Q3 but 918 in Q4.
