Fiduciary Trust International LLC Q1 2020 vs. Q2 2020 13F Holdings: Tech Stocks Dominate Portfolio

Ava Hoppe | 7 May, 2023

Fiduciary Trust International LLC, a New York-based asset management firm, recently filed its 13F form with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the first half of 2020. The form shows the firm's holdings as of the end of the first quarter, compared to the end of the second quarter.

One trend that stands out in the report is the firm's heavy focus on technology stocks. Among the top holdings in the portfolio are tech giants Thermo Fisher, Apple, Alphabet, and Microsoft. These companies all saw an increase in shares held by Fiduciary Trust during the second quarter.

Another notable aspect of the report is the sudden increase in holdings of the iShares Russell 3000 ETF (IWV), which saw a three-fold increase in shares held by Fiduciary Trust from Q1 to Q2, making it one of the firm's top 10 holdings. This suggests that the firm believes in the long-term potential of the broad U.S. stock market, as represented by the Russell 3000 index.

On the other hand, some holdings saw a decline in shares held by Fiduciary Trust. Johnson & Johnson, for example, saw a 5.7% decrease in shares held, while iShares Select Dividend ETF (DVY) saw a 6.7% decrease. However, it's worth noting that these decreases are relatively small, and Fiduciary Trust still holds a significant number of shares in both companies.

One interesting addition to the portfolio is GTT Communications, a cloud networking company that specializes in providing services to multinational corporations. Fiduciary Trust increased its holdings in GTT Communications by 2.6% during the second quarter, suggesting that the firm sees potential in the company's niche market.

Overall, Fiduciary Trust's portfolio remains heavily focused on technology, with the sector making up a significant portion of its top holdings. While there were some minor adjustments made to the portfolio during the second quarter, the firm's overall strategy seems to be one of steady growth and long-term investment.
