Investment Insights: Fifth Third Securities, Inc. Q4 2022 vs. Q1 2023 13F Holdings

Fifth Third Securities, Inc. recently filed its 13F report that provides insight into the company's investment holdings by disclosing the changes in their stock position over the last quarter. The data in the report indicates how different companies, ETFs, and other securities performed from the last quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.

One of the companies that have shown considerable progress in the Q1 of 2023 as compared to Q4 of 2022 was First Trust Rising Dividend Achiev ETF with 982,929 shares held and a 2.2% change from the last quarter. Another ETF with an impressive showing in the current quarter is the First Trust Capital Strength ETF, which saw a 526% increase in the number of shares held.

As for big names in the finance industry, there has been a considerable increase in the number of Vanguard 500 ETF shares held at 73,439, indicating a 15.5% change from the last quarter. The iShares Core S&P 500 showed a 6.7% increase in shares held from the previous quarter, while SPDR S&P 500 ETF had a 9% increase in the number of shares held, with 45,695 shares held in total.

The biggest change in holdings in terms of percentage growth was by iShares 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF. Over 273% more shares were held this quarter as compared to the last. Similarly, the iShares 20 Plus Year Treasury Bond ETF had a 1102.5% increase in shares held.

However, it's not all sunshine and roses for everyone. Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) saw a massive decrease of over 30% in the number of shares held for the current quarter compared with the last quarter. In addition, the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) saw a significant percentage decrease of -43.2% in the number of shares held.

Other ETFs that have seen a decrease in holdings are the Vanguard Short-Term Corporate Bond ETF (VCSH), with a 13.1% decrease in shares held, and the Select Sector Spdr Trust Shs Ben Int Energy (XLE), indicating a 5.6% decrease in shares held.

On the other hand, some lesser-known ETFs saw a considerable increase in the number of shares held for this quarter. For instance, iShares US Aerospace & Defense ETF with a 189.5% increase in shares held, while the iShares Russell 1000 Growth ETF (IWF) increased by 17.5%.

In summary, companies such as First Trust Rising Dividend Achiev ETF and First Trust Capital Strength ETF have shown significant growth in their shares held in the current quarter, while others like Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF, and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF, have seen a decrease in their shares held. Finally, iShares 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF, and iShares 20 Plus Year Treasury Bond ETF have seen an impressive percentage growth in shares held. The 13F report gives investors insight into what other investors are holding in their portfolios and helps them make informed investment decisions.
