Investment Strategies: A Look at Aevitas Wealth Management's Q3-Q4 2022 Portfolio

Ava Hoppe | 10 May, 2023

In the world of investment, it's not uncommon to see managers and advisors reshuffle a portfolio. Even the best-performing stocks will see changes, and the savvy investors are always analyzing and planning to make the next big move. That's why 13F filings are a great way to keep track of these updates, and in Q3 and Q4 of 2022, Aevitas Wealth Management Inc. made some significant changes worth exploring.

First on the list is ISHARES TR (SHY). In Q3 2022, Aevitas Wealth Management didn't hold any shares, but that number jumped to 236,956 in Q4 2022. The value of the shares also rose by approximately 19233%, showing great confidence in this option. In contrast, MICROSOFT CORP (MSFT) saw little change. The fund held 36,069 shares in Q3 and an extra 22 shares in Q4, a change of only 3%. Yet, the value of the shares increased by roughly 3.1%. It's not a massive shift, but it's still a notable change.

APPLE INC (AAPL) wasn't as fortunate. The fund held 62,675 shares in Q3, a number that dropped by 3,528 to 59,147 in Q4, a drop of 11.3% in shares. The value of the stock also decreased by 11.3%. It's worth checking if this reduction is a sign of the fund losing faith in the tech giant or merely a minor change for the time being. At the other end of the scale is PIMCO ETF TR (LDUR). In Q3, the fund held 34,794 shares worth approximately $3,295, but that number grew exponentially to 66,835 shares and $6,299. It's a change of 91.2%, and the rise in value shows that Aevitas Wealth Management sees a bright future for LDUR in the coming months.

In a similar vein, VANGUARD WORLD FDS (VDE) saw a significant growth in shares and value. From 36,044 shares in Q3, the holdings jumped to 37,796 in Q4, a change of 25.2%. But the value of the shares grew even more, from $3,661 in Q3 to $4,583 in Q4, an increase of 25.2%. VANGUARD MUN BD FDS (VTEB) is another stock that saw massive growth, with the fund holding 24,584 shares in Q3 and 89,315 in Q4, an increase of 273.6% in shares. The value of the shares also rose from $1,183 to $4,420, demonstrating the trust placed in this option by Aevitas Wealth Management.

In contrast, AMAZON COM INC (AMZN) saw a drop in both shares and value. In Q3, the fund held 42,240 shares worth $4,773, but in Q4, the shares decreased to 34,820, equivalent to a drop of 38.7%. The value also decreased from $4,773 to $2,934, an 18.9% reduction. Investors may want to keep an eye out for the next 13F filing to determine if this is just a minor blip, or if the fund is experiencing a longer-term loss of confidence in the online titan.

These are just a few of the many changes that occurred in Aevitas Wealth Management's portfolio between Q3 and Q4 2022. A careful analysis of these 13F filings can be invaluable in helping investors identify trends and make informed decisions about their investment options.
