As the end of 2022 approaches, it's interesting to take a look at how companies are adjusting their portfolios. Ithaka Group LLC, a private investment firm, has made significant changes to their holdings between Q3 and Q4 of 2022. This blog post will summarize those changes without mentioning the CSV or table.
First and foremost, Ithaka increased its holdings in Microsoft Corporation by 86.8%, going from 164,432 shares in Q3 to 298,324 in Q4 with a value increase from $38,296,000 to $71,544,000. The firm also made significant increases in Mastercard Inc., ServiceNow, Inc., NVIDIA Corp, and Amazon.com Inc., with gains ranging from 30.5% to 116.8%.
Apple Inc. and Salesforce, Inc. remained in the portfolio, but with increased shares by 80.6% and 69.6%, respectively. Veeva Systems Inc., Intuitive Surgical, Inc., and DexCom, Inc. showed similar gains, with increases in share percentages ranging from 78.4% to 154.6%.
In contrast, Ithaka Group LLC decreased their holdings in Johnson Controls, Inc. by 160.1%, American Tower Corporation by 97.4%, and Procter & Gamble Co. by 100%, selling off all shares in these companies. This could indicate that the firm no longer finds these companies valuable or that they needed to liquidate some assets for various reasons.
The company also bought no shares in Hexagon Aktiebolag in Q3, but in Q4, they bought 10,336 shares worth $215,000. Conversely, they sold all 69,236 shares of Meta Platforms, Inc., which had a value of $9,394,000 in Q3.
Overall, Ithaka Group LLC seems to be actively managing its portfolio and making significant changes. It's clear the firm is favoring certain companies, such as Microsoft Corporation and Amazon.com Inc., while divesting from Johnson Controls, Inc., American Tower Corporation, and Procter & Gamble Co. Time will tell if these investment decisions lead to profits.
