Gracie Gottlieb | 23 August, 2023

Houston, Texas - Oxland Group, a renowned residential development company based in Texas, has unveiled its ambitious plans for a sprawling 1,860-acre master-planned community in Montgomery County. The impressive development, known as Two Step Farm, aims to capture the essence of Texana culture and will center around the themes of music, farming, and nature. Yesterday, the company presented its groundbreaking vision to over 30 residential home builders in Houston.

To create a truly authentic Texan experience, Two Step Farm will be surrounded by natural beauty, with the development retaining existing trees and restoring forest areas. This commitment to preserving the environment aligns with the community's goal of embracing and celebrating its unique heritage. Tom Woliver, co-president of Oxland Group, expressed the company's dedication to maintaining the harmony between the new development and the surrounding big nature.

Music will play a central role in the community, which is aptly named Two Step Farm. The development is set to feature music venues, a goat farm, and various intentional spaces for people to come together and engage. The Homestead, representing a contemporary take on a rural town, will be the heart of the community and the first phase of the project. Visitors can explore The General Store, which will serve as a hub of activity offering specialty food and beverages while also doubling as the Visitor Center.

In addition to music and entertainment, Two Step Farm will showcase a commitment to sustainability and farming. The Goat Farm, a fully operational farmstead, will house a herd of goats responsible for clearing invasive species and restoring indigenous vegetation, thus creating a healthier ecosystem. The community will also feature the Two Step Greenbelt, a main trail that invites residents to enjoy recreational activities such as walking, running, and biking.

Phase one of the development, The Homestead, will offer 1,100 lots ranging from 35' wide up to 80' wide, providing a diverse range of housing options for homebuyers. The community will primarily consist of single-family detached homes, with future plans for townhomes and an active adult enclave. Embracing various architectural styles, including Texana Farmhouse, Contemporary European, Acadian, Craftsman, and Texas Modern, the homes will be designed to reflect the rich history and charm of the region.

Exciting amenities are also in the pipeline for the future of Two Step Farm. The Great Hall will be a grand venue for larger events, while an amphitheater and splash pad on the town green will offer family-friendly entertainment. Mixed-use retail spaces will further enhance the convenience and vibrancy of the community. Oxland Group is even exploring the possibility of creating a unique, community-centric golf experience utilizing the existing golf course on the property.

Anticipating a groundbreaking in 2024, Oxland Group is actively working towards the realization of Two Step Farm. The first model homes from phase one builders are expected to open early in 2025, with a grand opening slated for later that year.
