With the third quarter of 2023 coming to a close and the fourth quarter already underway, it's time to take a closer look at the changes in holdings of various funds. The 13F filings provide valuable insights into the movements and shifts in the portfolios of investment managers.

ISHARES TR, managed by BlackRock, saw a significant increase in their holdings. In Q3 2023, they held 133,742 shares, but by Q4 2023, their holdings skyrocketed to 190,298 shares. This increase of 50.3% shows a strong vote of confidence in the fund.

VANGUARD BD INDEX FDS also experienced a notable surge in their holdings. Their Q3 2023 holdings of 138,753 shares jumped to a staggering 207,901 shares in Q4 2023. The value of their holdings also increased from $10,430,000 to $16,012,000, marking a substantial growth of 53.5%.

However, not all funds experienced growth. VANGUARD INDEX FDS, managed by Vanguard, saw a decline in their holdings. In Q3 2023, they held 48,016 shares, but by Q4 2023, their holdings dropped to 36,436 shares. This decrease of 15.4% reflects a shift in their investment strategy.

VANGUARD TAX-MANAGED FDS witnessed a different trend. Their Q3 2023 holdings of 142,321 shares increased to 171,732 shares in Q4 2023. This rise of 33.8% indicates a growing interest in their fund.

The holdings of VANGUARD INDEX FDS remained relatively stable between the two quarters. They held 35,032 shares in Q3 2023 and 34,874 shares in Q4 2023. Although the change is minimal, it still represents a modest increase of 12.3%.

VANGUARD INDEX FDS also experienced significant growth in their holdings of VOO, an exchange-traded fund that tracks the performance of the S&P 500 Index. In Q3 2023, they held 1,780 shares, but by Q4 2023, their holdings surged to 14,442 shares. This remarkable increase of 802.5% demonstrates confidence in the performance of the S&P 500 Index.

On the other hand, ISHARES INC saw a decline in their holdings of EMXC. Their Q3 2023 holdings of 127,262 shares decreased to 103,585 shares in Q4 2023. This decline of 9.5% suggests a shift in their investment strategy.

VANGUARD CHARLOTTE FDS experienced a significant increase in their holdings of BNDX. In Q3 2023, they held 38,529 shares, but by Q4 2023, their holdings soared to 110,269 shares. This remarkable growth of 195.4% indicates a strong belief in the performance of this particular fund.

DIMENSIONAL ETF TRUST also witnessed substantial growth in their holdings of DFAC. Their Q3 2023 holdings of 10,285 shares escalated to 178,933 shares in Q4 2023. This exponential increase of 1,840.9% reflects a significant shift in their investment strategy.

SPDR SER TR, however, experienced a decline in their holdings of QUS. In Q3 2023, they held 49,452 shares, but by Q4 2023, their holdings decreased to 36,258 shares. This decrease of 19.7% suggests a change in their investment preferences.

SCHWAB STRATEGIC TR, the asset management division of Charles Schwab, witnessed a decrease in their holdings of SCHP. Their Q3 2023 holdings of 128,013 shares slid to 85,997 shares in Q4 2023, reflecting a decrease of 30.5%.

In summary, the third quarter of 2023 brought forth several notable changes in holdings of various funds. While some experienced significant growth, others encountered a decline in their holdings. These shifts in holdings provide valuable insights into the changing investment strategies of fund managers.
