Smart Portfolios, LLC Q2 vs. Q4 2022: Analyzing Changes in 13F Holdings

The second and fourth quarters of 2022 had a lot of ups and downs for Smart Portfolios, LLC. The company's 13F holdings comparison shows some interesting changes in the fund's top holdings.
One of Smart Portfolios, LLC's top holdings, JPMorgan Exchange Traded F, saw a decrease of 8.8% in shares from Q2 to Q4. Similarly, WisdomTree TR, another top holding, experienced a decline of 4.2% in shares in the same time frame.

On the other hand, Global X FDS's KRMA gained 86%, with 17867 shares in Q4. While InvESCO Exch Traded FD TR II's SPHD and ISHARES INC's ESGE experienced an increase in shares, totaling a 3.9% and 5.2% change respectively.
ARK ETF TR made some drastic changes in Q4, completely divesting from their holdings in ARKG and ARKK, and removed QQQ and ONLN from their portfolio. In contrast, the S&P 500 down 0.5% in the first quarter but gained 6.2% by the time Q2 came around.
Overall, the changes in holdings indicate that Smart Portfolios, LLC is trying to shift its position from a more generalized holding strategy, to a targeted approach.
