Ava Hoppe | 2 May, 2023
As we move into the fourth quarter of 2021, Vantis Investment Advisers L.P. has made some surprising changes to their 13F holdings. In this article, we will take a closer look at the shifts in Vantis' portfolio and explore what these changes may mean for the market.
One of the most notable changes in Vantis' holdings is their increased stake in JPMorgan Chase & Co. In Q3 2021, Vantis held 20,600 shares in the bank, but by Q4 2021, this number had increased significantly to 70,200 shares, with a value of over $11 billion. This represents a staggering 229.7% increase in their stake in JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Another significant shift in Vantis' portfolio is their increased investment in Option Care Health Inc. With 275,100 shares in the company in Q3 2021, Vantis reduced their stake to 246,900 shares by Q4 2021. However, the company's value increased slightly in this time frame, indicating that Vantis may still see potential in this healthcare provider.
On a more concerning note, we see that Vantis made some big bets on certain companies only to have them backfire. Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (FCX) is a prime example of this. In Q3 2021, Vantis held 198,600 shares in the company with a value of $6,460,000. However, by Q4 2021, Vantis had reduced their stake in FCX to just 81,800 shares, with a value of $3,414,000. This represents a massive 47.2% decrease in their stake in FCX and highlights the unpredictability of the market.
Similarly, Vantis invested in Avantor Inc. with 137,700 shares with a value of $5,632,000 in Q3 2021. However, their stake in the company decreased to just 69,500 shares with a value of $2,929,000 in Q4 2021. This represents a 48% drop in their stake.
Another interesting shift in Vantis' portfolio is their newfound interest in Airbnb Inc. (ABNB). They held 50,900 shares in ABNB in Q3 2021, which increased to 69,200 shares in Q4 2021, with a value of $11,521,000. This represents a 34.9% increase in their stake in Airbnb Inc.
To conclude, Vantis Investment Advisers L.P. has made some surprising changes in their 13F holdings between Q3 and Q4 2021. While some investments have paid off, others have not. It will be interesting to see how these shifts in Vantis' portfolio will affect the market in the coming months.
