The Transformation of Real Estate Management Services LLC - Q3 2021 vs. Q4 2021

Real estate investment trusts (REITs) have been gaining popularity among investors due to their ability to offer consistent dividends and potential for high returns. Real Estate Management Services LLC is one such institutional investor that has been consistently adding and trimming its holdings in the REIT sector. In this blog post, we will analyze the changes in holdings of Real Estate Management Services LLC in Q3 2021 vs. Q4 2021 based on their 13F filings.
Kennedy Wilson Holdings, Brandywine Realty Trust, and Healthcare Trust of America were among the top holdings of Real Estate Management Services LLC in Q3 2021. However, there were surprising changes in the number of shares held in these REITs in Q4 2021. Kennedy Wilson Holdings saw a 6.4% decrease in shares held, going from 410,000 to 382,300. Brandywine Realty Trust remained relatively stable, with a slight decrease of 1% in shares held from 666,500 to 659,700. Healthcare Trust of America saw a sharp decrease of 9.2% in shares held, going from 327,300 to 263,900.
Brixmor Property Group Inc. was another top holding of Real Estate Management Services LLC in Q3 2021. It seems that the fund managers were optimistic about the future prospects of this REIT, as they increased their shares from 320,300 to 316,700 in Q4 2021. This increase represents a 13.6% rise in the value of shares held.
Another REIT that saw a significant increase in shares held by Real Estate Management Services LLC was Apartment Income REIT. The fund managers held 148,900 shares of this REIT in Q3 2021, which increased to 137,000 in Q4 2021. This increase represents a 3.1% rise in the value of shares held.
Urban Edge Properties and Phillips Edison & Co also saw significant increases in shares held by Real Estate Management Services LLC, with 9.8% and 8.7% increases, respectively. American Campus Communities, which specializes in student housing, saw the biggest increase in shares held, jumping by 68.1%.
On the other hand, CatchMark Timber Trust saw a sharp decrease of 8.8% in shares held by Real Estate Management Services LLC. City Office REIT Inc. and RPT Realty Pr D Conv also saw significant decreases of 13.2% and 2.9%, respectively.
There were some interesting additions to the portfolio in Q4 2021. DigitalBridge Group Inc made its first appearance in the portfolio with 512,000 shares held by Real Estate Management Services LLC. R.E. Select Sector SPDR and Century Communities were also added to the portfolio, with 6.5% and 11.2% increases in shares held, respectively.
In conclusion, Real Estate Management Services LLC made some significant changes to its REIT holdings in Q4 2021. While there were some decreases in shares held, there were also some surprising additions to the portfolio. It will be interesting to see how the fund performs in the coming quarters based on its new holdings.
