Selkirk Management LLC Reports Significant Changes to Holdings in Q3 and Q4 2022.

Selkirk Management LLC is a hedge fund that is focused on equity markets. In the third and fourth quarters of 2022, Selkirk Management LLC made significant changes to its holdings. The fund's 13F holdings comparison for Q3 2022 and Q4 2022 shows an overall decrease in the value of holdings. One major change in the fund's holdings is the 25.7% reduction in Amazon.com Inc (AMZN) shares. The holding remained unchanged in terms of shares, with Selkirk Management LLC holding 280,000 shares of Amazon.com Inc in both quarters. However, the value of these shares dropped significantly from $31,640,000 in Q3 2022 to $23,520,000 in Q4 2022.
Similarly, the holding of Alphabet Inc (GOOGL) shares decreased by 7.8% in Q4 2022, falling from 114,000 shares to 114,000 shares. The value of these shares decreased from $10,904,000 in Q3 2022 to $10,058,000 in Q4 2022.
The fund's holding of Visa Inc (V) saw a 16.9% increase in the value of shares, rising from $7,106,000 in Q3 2022 to $8,310,000 in Q4 2022. The number of shares held remained unchanged at 40,000.
Another notable change in the fund's holdings was the 38.2% reduction in the number of shares held in Meta Platforms Inc (META). The number of shares held decreased from 46,300 in Q3 2022 to 32,250 in Q4 2022. The value of these shares also decreased significantly from $6,282,000 in Q3 2022 to $3,880,000 in Q4 2022.
The fund's holdings of Carvana Co (CVNA) also saw a significant change, with the value of shares decreasing by 76.6%. The number of shares held remained unchanged at 73,220 shares. However, the value of these shares decreased from $1,486,000 in Q3 2022 to $347,000 in Q4 2022.
Selkirk Management LLC also made some drastic changes to its options holdings. Put options on Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (ZIM) were completely liquidated, with the number of shares held falling from 50,000 in Q3 2022 to 0 in Q4 2022. Similarly, the holding of Zillow Group Inc (Z) shares was completely liquidated, with the number of shares held falling from 39,000 in Q3 2022 to 0 in Q4 2022.
In contrast, the fund's holdings of Chegg Inc (CHGG) saw a 19.9% increase in the value of shares, rising from $5,268,000 in Q3 2022 to $6,317,000 in Q4 2022. The number of shares held remained unchanged at 250,000.
Overall, Selkirk Management LLC made significant changes to its holdings in the third and fourth quarters of 2022, with the fund's total value of holdings decreasing by 29.5%. The fund sold some of its large cap holdings in Amazon.com Inc and Alphabet Inc, while increasing its holdings in Visa Inc and Chegg Inc. The fund also made significant changes to its options holdings, liquidating its position in Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd and Zillow Group Inc.
